Lady Blue Bears Fall to Clayton State, 83-68

MORROW, Ga. – In the final game of the 2015 Heritage Bank Classic, Livingstone College Lady Blue Bears fell to Clayton State 83-68 Saturday afternoon.

Clayton State jumped out to an 8-2 lead just two and a half minutes in before the Lady Blue Bears cut into the 13-10 lead. The Lakers would push the lead back out, this time to 22-14 by the end of the first quarter, but Livingstone used a 9-2 run to close within one, 24-23.

Clayton State led 43-27 at the break.

Amber Curtis led the way with 23 points, nine rebounds and a pair of steals while Toxiana Wilson finished with a double-double of 18 points and 10 boards. Brittany Taylor contributed 12 points and grabbed 11 boards while Kanesha Lankford scored five points.

Due to finals week, the Lady Blue Bears will not return to action until Monday, December 14, when they host Paine College.

Game time is set for 5:00 p.m. at New Trent.
