Bowling Wins Three Matches At Final Division Event

Ria Sweeney Finishes With 197 Average

FAYETTEVILLE, NC – The Livingstone women's bowling team finished its regular season picking up three wins at the final Western Division event.

 

Senior Ria Sweeney led the way for the Blue Bears recording a total pin count of 1,970 pins over 10 games for a 197 average over the first two days.  Sweeney bowled three games over the 200 mark, with her top game coming against St. Augustine's on Friday when she bowled a 236.

 

Sweetie Sherman was the second-highest bowler for Livingstone with a 130 average.  Tiffany McQueen followed with a 129 average, followed by LaShunda Williams and Samara Moore with a 119 and 106 average respectively.

 

Livingstone picked up two wins in the first day of the tournament, defeating Shaw 750-712 and Johnson C. Smith 774-698.  The Blue Bears' second victory came on the second tournament day, as they defeated Chowan 716-704.

 

The Blue Bears will now compete in the conference bowling tournament held in Durham, NC March 20-22.
