SAVANNAH, GA – The Livingstone men's track and field team turned in nine top-10 finishes Saturday at the Tiger Relays hosted by Savannah State University.
Senior runner Cordell Waddey turned in a top performance for the Blue Bears in the 400-meter dash. Waddey finished fourth in a total field of 17 in 51.33 seconds. Waddey was also a member of Livingstone's 4x200 meter relay team which finished seventh in 1:33.08. Freshmen William Jordan, Jerrod White and Hunter Waldron were also members of the relay team.
In the men's shot put, junior Michael Haygood record a personal-best 12.10 meter throw, which gave him a third-place finish. Haygood also turned in a seventh place finish in the discus throw.
Freshman Joshua Logan recorded a fourth place finish in the men's long jump with a distance of 6.30 meters. Logan also finished fifth in the men's triple jump with a distance of 13.35 meters. Freshman William Jordan also competed in the long jump, finishing seventh with a mark of 6.09 meters.
Freshman Dorian Edwards earned an 11th place finish in the shot put and a sixth place in the discus throw. Freshman Alkeem Delotach fell just short of earning points for the Blue Bears in the javelin, coming in ninth overall.
The Blue Bears will return to the track on March 19 when they travel down I-85 to Charlotte, NC to participate in the 49er Classic hosted by the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
