The Livingstone College's men's basketball team held on for a 72-67 win over the Davis & Elkins College Senators.
Mark Thomas led the Blue Bears with 29 points.
With the Senators' only lead being in the first few minutes of the game, Livingstone didn't have much room for error. The Blue Bears led in the first half 33-30, and outscored the Senators in the second half by only two points (39-37).
Along with Thomas, Eladio Espinoza paced the Blue Bears with 12 points while Jody Hill added 11 points to the score. Hill hit three-of-five shots behind the three point line off the bench.
The Blue Bears protected the ball very well and only had eight turnovers the entire competition compared to the Senators' 16. Livingstone scored 21 points off of turnovers.
Ethan Anderson walked away from today's game with a game-high 12 rebounds and eight points.
The Blue Bears improved their record to 8-1 this season, while the Senators drop to 1-6.
Livingstone will begin their CIAA play on January 3 as they travel to Bowie, Maryland to face Bowie State University. Game time is slated for 7:30 p.m.
