PORT ST. LUCIE, FL – Livingstone golfer Kenny Bethea finished 12th this weekend at the 24th PGA Minority Collegiate Golf Championship, hosted by the PGA Golf Club.
Bethea, who shot a three-day total, 228 (79-76-73), made steady improvement each day of the tournament.
Bethea, who competed in the tournament as an individual, shot an opening-round 79 Friday which landed him in 20th position. He followed that with a 76 Saturday to move himself into a tie for 17th and finished with a one-over par, 73, in the final round on Sunday to improve his final standing to 12th.
Rashad Hunt of Virginia State was also tied at 12th with Bethea. Amit Odaiyar of Central Florida won the individual championship after shooting an 8-under par, 208, for the tournament.
Bethea’s freshman season as a Blue Bear came to an end with this tournament.
