SALISBURY, NC – Livingstone golfer Kenny Bethea has been selected to attend the NCAA Regionals by virtue of being ranked second in overall score in the Atlantic Region.
Bethea, the CIAA MVP, will participate in the Atlantic/East NCAA Regional hosted by Concord University and the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference May 3-5 at the golf course at The Resort at Glade Springs.
Bethea, who came up one shot short of winning the CIAA individual title is one of only four individual players from the Atlantic Region selected for this event. Drew Deimel (Gannon), Tyler Bidwell (Mercyhurst) and Mike Gervais (West Virginia Wesleyan) are the other individual golfers from the Atlantic Region who were selected for this NCAA tournament.
The opening round of the tournament will be May 3, 2010 and Bethea will tee-off at 12:50 p.m. on either the 1st or 10th holes, based upon overall ranking. Again based on his initial seeding, Bethea could start the second round on May 4 anywhere from 8:10 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. Prior to the final round the individuals will go through a reseeding and on May 5, Bethea will either tee off at 8:10 or anywhere from 12:00 p.m. – 12:40 p.m.
The Cobb Course plays 7,084 yards and is a par-72. This is the fourth NCAA event that the course has hosted.
