SALISBURY, NC – The Livingstone women's tennis team kicked off their season Thursday, with two 9-0 losses to the Shaw University Bears.

The two losses dropped the Blue Bears overall record to 0-2.

Shaw, the defending CIAA champions, won in convincing fashion in the first match, not allowing the Blue Bears a single point.

In the second match, Livingstone's Winnie Chepchumba was able to take a point from Shaw's Livia Oliveira, falling 8-1.

Livingstone will return to play on Saturday afternoon when they host Belmont Abbey in non-conference play.  The matches will start at 1 p.m. at the Salisbury City Park complex.
